June and July 2026 Service Schedule

JUNE AND JULY 2026 SERVICE SCHEDULE FOR SAINT PATRICK’S CHAPEL IN CLIFDEN, IRELAND

Our June and July 2026 service schedule will begin with the festal week of Pentecost. As we remember the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles of Christ, we pray for similar illumination in our own lives. For this reason, the Apostle’s fast immediately follows the week of Pentecost. This next fast, one of the longest fasting periods of the church calendar, eventually culminates with the Feast of Apostles Peter and Paul on July 12. Our hope during this fast will be to see our lives transformed by our own discipleship in the footsteps of the Apostles. Our prayer lives are renewed as we again, after a 50-day pause, begin our daily prayers with the Troparion to the Holy Spirit:

O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere present and fillest all things, Treasury of good things and Giver of life: Come and dwell in us, and cleanse us of all impurity, and save our souls, O Good One.”

A baby oak grows at Saint Patrick Orthodox Mission. Over 2,500 native trees have been planted here since 2023, each a prayer for God’s renewal. Our valley, like much of Ireland, used to support an oak rainforest. In fact, early Irish Saint Brigid used to pray under an oak tree, which is why the monastic community founded by her is named Kildare – the Church of the Oak. “And he took of the seed of the land, and put it in the ground for seed, that it might take a firm root over many waters: he planted it on the surface of the earth. And it sprung up and grew…” Ezekiel 17: 5-6
