Service Schedule April 2025

APRIL 2025 SERVICE SCHEDULE FOR SAINT PATRICK’S CHAPEL IN CLIFDEN, IRELAND

Our April 2025 Service Schedule begins with the first weekend at the Orthodox Church of Saint Colman in Stradbally. A Service of Holy Unction will be offered before the All-Night Vigil on Saturday, 05.04. The preparatory season of Holy Lent draws to a close with Lazarus Saturday and the Feast of Palm Sunday. The fasting then continues into its strictest observance during Holy Week, and culminates a joyous welcoming of Pascha, the Greatest Feast of the Lord.

Thou didst give a pledge of the general resurrection before Thy Passion, O Christ our God, by raising Lazarus from the dead. Therefore, we too, like the children, carry the symbols of victory and cry to Thee, the Vanquisher of death: Hosanna in the Heights! Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord!

Nature as a witness to the Resurrection: A wild-seeded Scot’s Pine sapling growing on Saint Patrick Orthodox Mission grounds. Thought to have died out in Ireland, researchers were recently able to verify that the tree, the only pine native to the island, survived in remote locations of the west coast. It now regrows in many places, including here at Saint Patrick’s.
